Hi Friends,
I enjoy meeting reading friends and writing friends and sharing my love for Christian fiction. If you are part of a book club or a writers’ group I’d love to get to know you and your friends. If you live locally (NJ/PA) I can visit your book club for a discussion of one of my books and bring some fun giveaway and treats. If you’re not local, we can use Face Time or Skype to connect, and I can mail you some giveaways and surprises. I’ve done Skype meetings several times and enjoyed talking to new friends all around the country. If you host a writers’ group and are looking for a speaker, contact me and let’s see if we can find a time that would work for me to come and share with your group. For more information about my speaking topics and to connect, visit my website speaking page.
This month I’ll be the featured author at the Star 99.1 StarLit Society Book Club meeting sponsored by our local Christian radio station and hosted by mid-day DJ Misty. We’ll be reading and discussing The Governess of Highland Hall, the first novel in the Edwardian Brides Series, on Monday night, August 29th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Gabriel’s Fountain Restaurant in Martinsville, NJ. You can sign up and find more information on the Facebook event page. I hope you’ll come and join us for a fun evening, including some surprise giveaways!
Are you an aspiring writer who wants to connect with other writers for encouragement and support? The New Jersey Chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers is forming, and they will hold their first meeting on Saturday, October 1, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon, at Grace Bible Chapel in Chester, NJ. I’ll be the featured speaker at the meeting, and we will be talking about how to turn off the critical, self-editing side of your brain while you write your first draft at top speed, and then how to flip the switch and turn on your self-editing skills to make your manuscript shine. For more info about the new NJ ACFW Chapter or the meeting contact Cherlyn Gatto at cherlyngatto@gmail.com.
Happy Reading until next time,
Carrie
