My Christmas memory is always when we were little going to church for Christmas eve and have an Amazing service and fellowship afterwards. Going home and picking one gift to open. After that we had hot chocolate and just shared about the Christmas service and head to bed. Waking Christmas morning to the happy Christian Christmas songs coming from the kitchen were my mom was making breakfast and we would open right after the rest of the gifts. That has turned into a Family Tradition even now that we are older and with our own families. We gather at our parent’s home and continue the tradition there.

I have many Christmas memories, but the first one that popped into my mind was about my dad. He passed away 34 years ago and I can still remember the Christmas morning when I was just a child and my mom had bought my dad a toy car. It was a red convertible (to the best of my memory) and it was big, not one of those small cars. I can see his face all smiles, and his eyes just sparkling. He was on the floor with us and rolling that car around. I’m not sure why mom bought the car for him, but he sure was happy!

My favorite Christmas memory as a child was when my parents borrowed the Santa suit from our town and had my older sister dress up as Santa. She climbed on top of the roof and walked around as mom came and woke my brothers and I up. By the time we made it to the door of the living room with mom, my sister( dressed like Santa) was putting gifts under the tree. I can still remember to look on my three younger brother’s faces, especially my baby brother. One of the best memories I have of my mom. She passed when I was 13yrs old.

As a child, one of my favorite parts of Christmas was going to my grandparents home on Christmas Eve. My dad was the oldest of 12 children (only 10 lived to be adults). They all had children and the place was a madhouse with kids. We had a potluck dinner where the dining room table was filled with delicious food. Plates were filled and taken to every corner of the house to find a place to sit, whether on chairs, beds, or floors. Names had been drawn so gifts could be exchanged so there were plenty of toys to entertain us. We would sneak upstairs to play the old Victrola or otherwise get into mischief. My grandparents have both passed on but the memories remain.

After I married and had children, my favorite memory was going to mom and dads for dinner on Christmas Day. There were 10 of us so with husbands, boyfriends and kids, there was a housefull. It was the one time of the year that we managed to get together. My husband was an only child and loved it too. Our kids were the only grands for awhile and they loved going too!

I remember my mother’s last Christmas (1982.) It was the last time our entire family gathered together for the Holidays. Nobody cared what was under the tree or if they had purchased the perfect presents for each other. The only thing that mattered was that our mother was with us.

One of my favorite Christmas memories is the year I received my Chatter Phone. I loved that thing!! Mom forgot to wrap it, and I found it in her closet. She had a lot of talking to do to convince me it was mine! My next favorite is the year I received keys to her and Daddy’s car. I’m the youngest, and I was the only one to ever get keys to their car.

I don’t have one in particular. All Christmas’s when I was little were magical. I have 3 older brother’s and one year “Santa” left footprints on the carpet. They always did something to make Christmas special for me. I remember my Grandpa always walking in with a box of presents on Christmas Eve. A more recent memory is when our daughters(now 23 & 26) were teens and woke up at 3 am on Christmas morning. LOL They still get excited!

I love the last Christmas 2016 with my Mom and sisters. I had changed Christmas (2013) by the suggestion of picking names and only buying one gift. (With my Mom’s blessing). It wasn’t as bad as everybody thought, and we came up with new traditions (like NOT getting out of bed at 0500 to open gifts). I treasure that Christmas of 2016, not knowing it would be the last.

My favorite Christmas memory is from 2013. It was the last Christmas we had with my parents in Wyoming. My father passed away suddenly from an accident the following April. I can still see him teasing my mom by banging his silverware on the table demanding his breakfast. The little ones loved it and mimicked him. It was quite noisy. Lol. My father was unsteady but insisted on trying to play with the children. There are times I wish I could go back and do it all over again.

Congratulations on your latest release. It sounds like a great read!

I remember when my great grandparents were alive, they lived in a trailer on my grandparents property. On Christmas morning we would all go over there before we opened presents at grandma’s. Great grandma Metts would always give all the grandkids one of the Lifesaver Christmas books and the girls would get a beaded change purse.

When my children were little we chose to do the 12 days of Christmas for a new family in our neighborhood. Each night my kids would run down to their house and ring the doorbell and leave a fun item on their doorstep. My children saw the joy in service and understand more the reason for the season. We have done this event many other times but for some reason that year is the one we remember the most.

I had drifted away from Church but then on Christmas Eve when I was expecting my first born I suddenly wanted to go again. I persuaded my husband to stay up with me and we walked to the midnight service, it was magical. After that I started to go again, occasionally at first and then more regularly. Now I can’t imagine Christmas without Church being at the heart of it.

One of my sweetest memories with my own kids was a total Mom moment. We had started opening gifts at the grandparents home but it was time to go pick up great-grandma to join us so there was a pause in the gift opening. I feared the young kids would all fuss and complain (whine) about having to wait to continue their own enjoyment. But to my pleasure the kids happily played as they patiently waited gg-ma’s arrival. It was a sweet moment for me as the mom to watch them set aside their own desires to allow someone else some pleasure. I was filled with Christmas spirit that day.

Congratulations. What a wonderful give a way.
I have been blessed with many wonderful Christmas memories. But three really stand out. First one: We were married in Sept, so we had a blast going for a real tree and shopping for our first ornaments and decorating and baking together. We found these two tiny knitted stockings that 36 years later are the first ornaments that go up on the tree. Second one: the next year I was eight and half months pregnant. This was very special for both myself and my husband.
Third one: We had our second child at the end of November so she was a delight to have for her first christmas. All the grandparents and aunts and uncles had a blast also.

It is so hard to choose from Christmas memories! There’s my own childhoods and then watching my children have Christmas each year. I don’t know if I have any amazing memories that stand out. It is a mixture of warm feelings: delicious cookies, snug home, and loving family. I will say that my first Christmas married was so special. That stands out to me for no other reason than celebrating it with the man I love, no longer just dating, but being married. He did buy me a Kindle that year, too, which I still have 8 years later and have not upgraded though newer models are out. I am happy with that one as long as it lasts. Just as I am happy with him!

We were quite poor when I was growing up and we usually got necessities for Christmas like pajamas, socks, etc. One year on Christmas Eve, I was in bed but awake and could hear lots of noise downstairs. I was so curious but knew I’d better not sneak down by the tree. When I got up Christmas morning and went to see what was under the tree, imagine my shock when there was a baby doll with a cradle and high chair for me. My sweet, older sister had taken her babysitting money and bought these gifts for me and her boyfriend had been putting the cradle and high chair together the night before which is the noise I had heard. I have never forgotten that Christmas and the love from my sister to do this for me.

I don’t have any one special memory, but when I was little, my family always went to Mass on Christmas Eve night and got up early Christmas morning for presents. At some point our tradition changed and we kids would wake up December 25 to Christmas music playing on the tape player. We would get dressed and go to Mass, then come home for cinnamon rolls and present. Every year for as long as I can remember Mama sets up her Nativity scene and every year more and more animals are added. 🙂 It is my absolute favorite Christmas decoration.

One of my favorite memories is Christmas caroling with friends through neighborhoods, nursing homes, & visiting those who are homebound. But, I will always love family members’ reactions when they open up gifts. ?

With 9 children, my parents had many grandchildren. One year my mother made all the grandsons matching pajamas and the granddaughters matching nightgowns. I still remember the cute picture of them all by the Christmas tree in them. This was quite a few years before she ended up with 38 grandkids, but there were still 15-20 of them. Up until the year she passed away, she would give each of the kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids something for Christmas and money in a card for their birthdays. I think there were close to 150 at that time with all the spouses, etc. The last few years I helped her buy, wrap, and send them all. It was a multi-day task, but it was a fun time to spend with her.

I had a nativity that had a removable baby Jesus. When my son was quite small he realized Jesus was missing. He asked me why. I told him Jesus was born on Christmas and Christmas morning he would appear. He came downstairs, by passed his gifts and went straight to the manger looking for Jesus. When he married I gave him my whole nativity set and he and his wife add a piece to it every year.

My fondest memory of Christmas is participating in a Christmas Eve church service, singing in a children’s choir. Exiting the church, we each received a paper bag with an orange, some hard ribbon candy, and a few hard shell nuts. That same night, our daddy read the Luke 2 story again before we opened presents. On Christmas Day, my many cousins and I would each say or sing a piece for our grandparents before eating together with them and all our extended family.

A special Christmas was when I was a little girl. We visited my grandmother before Christmas. I always wrote a letter to Santa Claus from my home. This is really special. <3 I know it wasn't a part of my life, but I know that it was a big part of yours. I know you're a very strong person to lose someone so close at such a young age, and to be sharing it now with us. Never ignore that strength or think that you have none during the day to day, just remember that mountain you braved, and you'll see how significant and strong you really have been to yourself and to others! Sorry if this is so personal, but I think very passionately about grief. God bless!

Growing up we carried on a tradition yearly that my Dad wanted us to do to make sure we knew whose Birthday it really was. As a family we’d make a Christmas Cake together. We’d decorate it together. We’d place candles on it, the number of candles didn’t matter so sometimes we put just one and other times as many as we’d thought the top of the cake could hold. The cake was made on Christmas Eve but not eaten then. On Christmas we would sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. Then after singing we’d blow out the candles together and then say together “We are not blowing out the Light of this World, we are taking HIM into our hearts.” The first piece of cake cut was placed on its’ plate in the center of the table, it was never ate by any member of the family. Then we’d all be able to eat our cake. Of course we as children never knew what happened to that cake but I imagine my Mom would dispose of it with a prayer of Thankfulness to The Heavenly Father.

A lovely memory for me is my mother making a Christmas “tea ring” as she called it and the smell of Russian Christmas tea permeating the air! She always put so much effort into our Christmas meals. Now that I’m a mom of littles myself, I understand her sacrifices more than I ever could before. I can still vividly remember rolling out the dough with her quite thin, spreading out all the goodness evenly: cinnamon and butter, nuts, dried fruit….
And then the tea! THE tea. THE best tea know to man. The tea embodied all the flavors that are Christmas, everything that is festive, from the spices to apples and oranges.
This Christmas is the first I shall spend with my mother in 10 years. I can’t wait to see what memories my little family will make with her!

I have so many memories of Christmas that have stuck with me all these years, but there’s one that sticks out to me! In the years before the onset of the chronic illness I now battle, we would all pile into our small car and drive around the mountains that overlook the city and just stair at tall the light that humanity produces. Something was so big about that little drive that always made me feel so big and significant. We’d drive around all the big neighborhoods with their beautiful, intricate gates and christmas decorations, and we’d just share in that moment on December 23rd, as we always celebrated our Christmas on Christmas Eve. It may seem small, but looking back on those memories is a comfort to think about even now when it’s hard to do all those things due to the boundaries my illness inflicts, and it’s like a medicine. 🙂 Regardless of the giveaway, I’m glad i got the chance to share this special memory with all of you. <3

One of my favorite Christmas memories was when I was 7 years old. My youngest sister was born on December 23, and so we had a new baby sister for that beautiful Christmas that year, my mom and our new baby sister were able to come home from the hospital just in time for Christmas. Plus my other sister who was 6 and I got our own baby dolls for Christmas also. This book sounds like a very sweet Christmas book, and the cover is Beautiful. Thank you for the chance.

When I was growing up there was never much money to spend on gifts. All of the family’s gifts were handmade- I think I was about 12 when I got a present that was bought in a store. I was thrilled.
However, old traditions die a slow death. I always had my children make presentS for each other-some crudely made but from the heart.

I directed a Christmas play in Mexico once. It was of the most challenging fun projects I’ve ever taken on. To translate Little Christmas Lamb into Sapaniah along with all the songs. It was very rewarding though and the kids over there were great.

I come from a big family – seven children. A memorable Christmas was a surprise trip to California from Montana with brand new winter coats! Who would have thought we could afford such extravagance!!! I’m sure my parents saved a long time for that! The best part was that we were together. Christmas is anywhere your family is.

My grandchildren are always amazed at the village. It’s growing into a city I might ad! A Christmas memory and I still do it, my grands play I Spy in the village around the tree. I type up things for them to find. Such as three angels or the word “hope.” We also photo them making it snow by blowing glitter snow out of the palm of their hand onto the village. I cherish these days because some are too old in their eyes to continue the tradition! I enjoy all your books. I like how they are life issues with a pure solution. I enjoy the history in some. With all that said, I don’t want to participate in the drawing. I won already and still LOVE the prizes. Someone else will enjoy these. I just like to participate!

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was 7 and we went to Disney World to visit my mom’s parents who we didn’t see a lot since they lived on the east coast and we lived in WA.

My favorite Christmas memory would have to be the last Christmas spent with my Dad. Our family gathered together to celebrate Jesus, eat and open presents. I helped my dad open his presents as he was not able to do it all himself. He was always a jokester and funny so it was a very nice last Christmas with him.

It’s hard to pick one Christmas memory as my parents made each of them special no matter what. At times my dad worked three jobs to provide for us. We always had laughter, love, music, and God. My mom would make homemade goodies and we would play games. Losing my daddy this week will change Christmas for us this year, but we will cherish the memory of the best daddy ever.

A man who worked with my dad came to our house dressed as Santa one time. My brother and I were small. We were so shocked that Santa just visited our house like that.

I can remember my siblings and I getting up early on Christmas Day to check out our stockings to see if we were good or not. We thought that if we were really good then our stocking goodies and presents were everything we had asked Santa for that year. If not, than we had learned our lesson and we knew to be on our best behaviors in the coming year.

A favorite memory is my first Christmas that my hubby and I celebrated with our firstborn child. We put her in a box and pretended that we opened her!

My favorite Christmas memory was when I woke up on Christmas morning with an “O” drawn on my forehead and my brother had an “X” on his. This is how we knew which gifts were ours under the tree. ?

I love Christmas when all my family gathers–maybe not right on the Day but during the weeks surrounding. I remember as a child peeking down the stairs when my parents were getting gifts out–and of course being told to get back to bed or Santa wouldn’t come! I did not realize you had this series so am really looking forward to reading them. Congrats on the new release.

My memory is my husband and I celebrating our First Christmas together. We were care takers for a property that was woods as well as the house. We went out into the woods to look for our Christmas tree. We found the tree we thought would fit in our living room. We had to cut the trunk down 3 times so it would fit
in the living room. Dragging the tree to our house I realizing I would have to make ornaments to decorate the tree. We had paper chains, wrapped match boxes, lights we bought and some glass balls. We thought it was beautiful when we turned the lights out with only the tree shining in the room. Every time I think about it, it brings a smile to face and joy to my heart. That was 45 years ago, where has the time gone?

My favorite memory of Christmas is the year every thing went wrong and Christmas was a race to the finish line. Decorating, cooking and shopping. I still laugh over our dog who thought every Christmas ball was one we were suppose to throw for him. He guarded the tree and whined because no one was throwing the balls for him.

    What a beautiful cover!
Special memory – scary and funny at the same time. We have a tradition of cutting a Christmas tree. Last year we’ve got lost during the snow storm on a Christmas tree farm 🙂 Kiddos will remember it!

So many special Christmas memories from my childhood. My dad’s extended family always had our Christmas gathering the Sunday before Christmas and all the good food and spending time with my grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins was always eagerly anticipated. My maternal grandparents were always an important part of our Christmas celebration too and we all loved the many Christmas activities at our church.

Rushing to help Santa who was broke down. As a child I kept that main thought even as I got older and we had a Christmas program on Christmas Day! I cherish most those days the family gathered around the table and I fly now to join my children at the oldest one’s home each holiday. Grands and kids make the blessing of the Christ child’s birthday so well as they sit Jesus’ birthday cake on the table each year!

My Christmas Memories are many. My Grandma made the best divinity. When I got married, I found a fool proof recipe. I’ve made my Mom divinty every year since and mailed it to her. The year she passed away with Alhemizers, I made it. My brother said she shared it with no one. Her Mama welcomed her home on Jan. 31. I miss her. I still make the divinity for my kids and grandkids.

My sweetest Christmas memory is when “Santa” brought us a wooden doll house in the yard. I was about 6 years old, the eldest. It was big enough the three of us could fit inside (the two youngest weren’t born yet). But Santa brought it in the 23rd, it appeared on the 24th in the morning. We were confused because it was not yet Christmas Day, but Mama said Santa had so much work he was giving out the bigger gifts the day before ❤️☺️?
