The Christian truths in this book doesn’t feel preachy, just interwoven so well that you know the characters speaking them live them. This is part of my review on the book “Gathering Shadows” by Nancy Mehl. I write a review on most books that I read!

What a beautiful gift pack! I look forward to reading these books. I sometimes do reviews on books but I tend to not say anything if I don’t like the book. After all, it’s really a matter of taste and perspective. If I like it a lot I say so, if not, I let people make their own decision.

I generally always leave a rating on Goodreads and a review on books that I have greatly or not greatly enjoyed. πŸ™‚ The last book I read was “The Believer” by Ann H. Gabhart. It was a good novel about a very interesting group of people.

Yes, I write reviews, however I have been distracted lately, working on my own novel–my first. My most recent book I read was “Running on Empty”, By Ruth Logan Herne & I’m about half way through reading another book By Ruthy called, “Try, Try again”. She is a new to me author and I’m enjoying her books. Now, I just need to get some reviews written on her books.

Your prize package looks wonderful, and I would enjoy winning it! Thank you for choosing such fun gifts to share with a lucky winner.

I always give books I read a rating on goodreads and maybe a sentence or two review if I can articulate what I liked or didn’t like about a book. I recently finished Catch a Falling Star by Beth Govt and gave it 5 stars! Historical fiction is usually my go to choice but I’he enjoyed several good contemporaries lately.

I write reviews on every book that I read. Doesn’t matter if I’ve won the book or if I have purchased it. I think whatever we can do to help authors out is a nice thing to do.
The last book that I read and reviewed was, Swept Away by Laura V. Hilton & Cindy Loven. It is a Quilts of Love book and doesn’t release until November. I loved it! Why did I love it? There was closure on past hurts, forgiveness and healing took place.

Yes, as an author I know how important it is to review books we enjoy! One of my latest reviews was of CJ Darlington’s excellent YA novel, Jupiter Winds. I can’t recommend that book highly enough–YA that focuses more on family relationships than romance, and it’s quite clean. I loved it! This is such a cool giveaway, especially for someone who absolutely loves everything about England! I have not read this book, but it’s now on my to read list.

I review most of the books I read. I try not to review a book that I didn’t like. A book may not be my cup of tea, but someone else may absolutely love it and I would hate for a review I did to keep someone from reading a book.

I loved this book!!! I am a huge fan of all things regency and really like how you captured the time period!

    Reply
  39. RaSheena

Whether I write a review depends on 1) if I absolutely loved/hated the book and 2) what the majority of reviews state. If there is a significant majority, and I agree with most of the reviews, I probably won’t write a review. It just feels redundant. If there is not a significant majority, or I disagree with the majority, I will write a review. The last book I read was Sands of Times by Susan May Warren. I like the action in the book, but I didn’t like some of the characters. I’ve been looking for a new Christian Regency Era author, so I am excited to try one of Ms. Turansky’s books!

The last book I read/finished was The Governess of Highland Hall and I loved it. It’s a love story without all the inside details. I appreciated you not going down the smutty road that you kept to Christian values. I appreciated how the Word of God was brought into your writing without be the smack in ones face some tend to be. It was real. It was believable. I think a non-Christian wouldn’t be threatened by it or find it overpowering, and if they do perhaps the Holy Spirit is speaking to them through your book.

You draw us to the story. You gave us real life family drama. You left us wanting book two to be out already.

I give starred reviews on places like “goodreads”, but I rarely write a review unless I really loved the book and I don’t like giving negative reviews.

I have just finished reading Lynette Eason’s Deadly Reunions Trilogy and I really liked all three books. They were suspenseful and I really liked getting to know all of the characters and trying to figure out “whodunit”.

I try to leave reviews for books I like. If I don’t enjoy a book and I know it’s just because of preference, then I usually don’t leave a comment one way or another. If I dislike a book (especially an audio book) for a legitimate reason, I will leave a review. Most recently I left a review for an audio book based on the change of narrator… I couldn’t even listen for 2 minutes before turning it off!

Right now, I am reading three books, but have been working so much, I fall asleep after only reading a page or two. That’s not to say that I am not enjoying the books. They are great. But even with large print, it is often times difficult to see them without strain, which makes me tired.

I occasionally write reviews if something about a book just really sticks with me after I’ve read it – or if there is something about it that I really want to make sure other readers know (good or bad … but usually good lol). The last book I read was “Fair Play” by Deeanne Gist & I really loved the hero, Hunter. (Ok. So it might be better to say I had a little crush on him from the words “Pretty much the whole time.” Which also kinda describes how long throughout the book I had said crush lol)

Hello! The last book I read was Prairie Song by Mona Hodgson. A moving book centered around several families moving West in their efforts to move away from their sadness and begin a new life. Set in the mid-1800’s, the hardships they faced, along with the triumphs places me, as a reader, right where I want to be. I am looking forward to reading your book, and maybe sipping tea while I do so. Congrats to you on your 100~ 5 STAR reviews!! What a blessing! (p.s. I think I was born 100 years too late)

It was an awesome debut novel – the characters, the historical, and spiritual elements made it one of my favorites of 2014.
I post reviews on my Christian Book review blog {https://christianshelfesteem.wordpress.com/2014/07/16/the-butterfly-and-the-violin-by-kristy-cambron/}, Amazon, Goodreads, Christianbook and others.

I love to write reviews on books I love to read. I usually name the things I enjoy most about the book in the review, and occasionally I will mention something I don’t like. If the book is really a loser, I usually don’t write a review. I’m not a fan of criticizing because usually what I might not like would be something others would like or something that wouldn’t bother them.

I love reviewing books that I love. They’re good so I want to share the beauty, joy, or anguish that I’ve just been touched by. When an author has the ability to uplift and inspire it needs to be shared.

I’ve read several good books recently but I’d say the one that really got to me was A Broken Kind of Beautiful by Katie Ganshert. Which surprised me, as this isn’t normally a favorite genre for me. But I think it was the emptiness of these people who had been broken by what life had given them and find a contentment in what they had lost or given up.

I’ve been bad about writing reviews because the honest truth is I feel like my words are dumb. I’d like an outline or format to follow so I get all the important points across and readers will want to read the books I truly love and also ‘get’ why I love them. I *am* changing that and going to write reviews for books even if my reviews don’t read well. I am going to do it as my way of saying thank you for creating a work that I enjoyed.
The last book I read was, ‘Texas Roads’ by Cathy Bryant. I loved it. It made me feel like I was there and it had a cozy down home feeling which I love and miss about the south/southeast.
